Tauno Johannes Luiro (February 24, 1932 – October 29, 1955) was a Finnish ski jumper who competed in the 1950s. He was born and died in Rovaniemi. March 2, 1951 Luiro jumped the new world record, 139 meters, in Oberstdorf, which stayed unbeaten until 1961 and Yugoslav Joze Slibar. In February 1951 Luiro became the first non-Norwegian who won the youth ski jumping competition in Holmenkollen, Oslo. Luiro finished tied for 18th in the individual large hill event at the 1952 Winter Olympics in Oslo. Luiro, who suffered from diabetes, died of lung-tuberculosis in 1955. His ski club was Ounasvaaran Hiihtoseura.
